The new features with Friend Book on the iPhone make me want to download the program. Two phones that have the program can shake simulatneously and their personal contact information will be exchanged between phones. It works without connecting the phones, more like a handshake with the phones to exchange the information without having to type in the information. I think it will make getting friend’s numbers a lot easier because I don’t like pulling out my phone and typing in the information just a simple phone shake makes it easier and more fun.

The individuals who participate in the study will be paid 17,000 for staying in bed for 90 days. The bed-rest test will take place in Houston in the Human Test Subject Facility of Johnson Space Center. The scientists are trying to study the effects of microgravity on the human body. Every day the test group will be awake for 16 and asleep for 8. I would not be able to take part in this study. I get restless if I lay in bed for an afternoon when I’m sick so I definitely can see myself spending a prolonged time in bed especially if my head was tilted downwards. Could you do this study? Why wouldn’t you want to?

Looking for love on the Internet has become popular in recent years with sites like match.com and eharmony.com, but finding love on the internet has its downfalls. People are very trusting in relationships that are created over the internet before they have met the other individual. Match.com provides tips for users on protecting themselves from users who may not be on the site to look for love. Some scammers are able to form a relationship with a user and might spend 6-8 months talking with them on the computer and phone, but in the end ask for money. The process starts off slowly so that the user doesn’t realize they are being scammed, the individual might ask for $500 dollars to repair his car or for a new pair of work boots, then the scammer might ask for money because he/she was in an accident. Be very leary of an individual that asks for money online or asks for a lot of your personal information like your home address, birth date or social security number. The internet crime report indicated that over $239 million dollars was stolen with internet fraud last year. There is a new online site to help victims of romance fraud, romancescams.org, since the site’s debut in 2005, it has already built a 30,000 person user base.

Trisha Walsh Smith posted a video explaining what she is going through with her husband, Philip Smith, president of the largest theater owner on Broadway. Trisha’s husband is 25 years older than her and back when they got married she signed a prenuptial agreement. The agreement said that Philip could kick her out of their 9 bedroom condo in 30 days and is giving her no money in the divorce. Back when she married Philip she said they were very in love and she didn’t worry about the prenuptial agreement, but now that he is kicking her out of the condo and she is getting nothing in the divorce she is fighting back. Before I watched the video I thought that it was terrible for her to post their business on Youtube, but she seems very desperate in the video for someone to help her so it’s a hard situation. I don’t think she should have talked badly about his daughters and their sex life though, that seems immature.

Last week Facebook released a new way for users to communicate with friends, facebook chat. I wonder if it will catch on like other facebook features. I know right now google chat is the easiest way to keep up with friends just because the majority of my friends have it, and for a lot of facebook users, it is blocked for them at work. The addition of a live video stream seems like a fun idea in addition to the new chat feature. Do you think people will use the new facebook chat option?

The credibility of the person being annalyzed will be viewed with green for truth, yellow if the machine is unsure and red for a lie. Hopefully the device will measure up and be able to save the lives of American Soldiers.

American Airlines launched a new widget for Facebook to try to track what customers want. The application will send users 10% off coupons for flights if users are sharing destinations with each other on their facebook pages. The widget seems like spyware and it seems like users would get unwanted messages from American Airlines just from telling a friend about a trip. It could be cool to get a discount if you were planning a trip, but how often do you plan trips with facebook?

In order to accomplish the goal of providing a laptop for each child they have developed a program that allows a child to get a computer every time you buy a children’s laptop. If you participated in the give one get one program your computer that you gave to a child was sent to Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti, Mongolia or Rwanda.
